| Step
1.
You will
need to install 1 to 3 stainless steel bow eye or U-bolt cleats
provided.
Materials/Tools
needed:
- Drill,
with 3/8" ( 9mm) bit
- silicone
sealant or epoxy
- 12
or 13mm box end wrench or adjustable end wrench or socket
drive with wobbly end
- measuring
tape
- 1 to
3 Stainless Bow Eye Cleats or U bolts
- 2 to
6 nylock nuts
- One
4" x 4" x .75" piece of marine plywood or
aluminum plate
- two
5 foot long ( 1.75 meters) pieces of 3/8" diameter
bungee cord
- one
3" stainless quick link or shackle

|
Step
2.
Position
center bow eye cleat as low as possible to where the pwc
seat housing meets the transom step and where you have enough
inside clearance and surface area inside the pwc hull to
mount the 4" x 4" piece of plywood or aluminum
plate backing. Approximately, 3 inches up from the transom
step should be adequate.
Mark
hole location.

Step
3.
Drill
holes with 3/8" diameter drill bit. Apply some silicone
or epoxy to outside hole perimeter, press bow eye cleat
through holes in pwc hull, locate backing plate inside the
pwc hull and press plate onto bow eye cleat threaded studs.
Locate bow eye cleat washer plate over studs and thread
nylock nuts onto the studs. Tighten nuts and torque down
backing plate and cleat.

4.
Attach
sled to center pwc tow cleat with stainless steel quick link.
See.

Step
5.
The
outer left and right bungee attachments need to be placed
in a location either parallel to or aft of the bungee holes
in the sled so that the sled rides as flat as possible against
the transom step and without excessive play causing instability.
.
Install
the outboard U bolts in the locations as described in the
pictures.

Step
6. The left and right side bungees are connected to the left
and right bow eye cleats via carabineers. To properly mount
sled and adjust bungees, the sled needs to be level with the
pwc. You can make it level by placing a saw horse or a stand
underneath the sled to support it. Otherwise, you will need
an additional person to hold the sled up from the tail until
the sled bungee mounts have been adjusted.
To
Each 5 foot long bungee cord, slip the looped end into the
carabineer and attach the carabineer to the U bolt. Take the
two loose ends of the bungee, slip them around th ebase of
the carabineer, and pull the slack out of the line to shorten
the length of bungee between the U bolt and the sled attachment
points. You want some tension in the bungee to create a stabilizing
and spring-like effect. You want both bungees to have the
same tension on them to equalize the sled and keep it centered
over the transom step. Tie off the bungee to the carabineer
with a knot. Go to rear of sled and swing sled to the left
and right to make sure the bungees are equalized and enough
slack has been taken up on both sides. Make adjustments as
necessary. Cut remaining loose length of bungee and melt the
ends to prevent fraying.

TRAILERING
THE PWC
If
you plan on trailering the pwc down the road:
DO NOT TRAILER THIS PWC MODEL WITH THE SLED ATTACHED! THERE
IS INADEQUATE FLAT SURFACE AREA ON THE PWC SEAT GRAB BAR TO
REST THE SLED AGAINST AND STRAP IT AGAINST THE PWC SEAT. ALSO,
THE GRAB BAR OVERHANGS THE SLED CENTER ATTACHMENT POINT TOO
MUCH TO FOLD SLED OVER AGAINST THE SEAT.
REMOVE SLED FROM PWC AND TRANSPORT SLED IN A PICKUP BED, A
ROOF RACK, INSIDE THE TRANSPORT VEHICLE, OR ON A SPECIALLY
MADE PWC TRAILER RACK.
